Nancy Barnhart
My Mom taught me to knit well over 50 years ago! It is one of many fun creative activities that I do. The hats were a big project the year I broke my ankle playing ice hockey. I made a hat for myself with buttons on it that became a prototype for many since then! Some of my hats, without buttons, sport an exciting combination of texture, pattern and decoration. Each one is different from the next.
I first came to Stehekin in late 1973 as a cross-country ski instructor. I met and married Mike Barnhart here. We have four grown children and eleven grandchildren. All of our children know how to knit!
Hope you enjoy the colorful and playful nature of my work.
